PUB OF THE MONTH

AUGUST 2010 - FOXHOUND, BIDDULPH MOOR

FoxhoundOur Pub of the Month for August is the excellent Foxhound in the village of Biddulph Moor. A traditional, three-roomed stone building that was built in 1834, it has a small car park and beer garden, where you can sit out on those hot, sunny August days and admire the gorgeous views of the Moorlands.

The pub itself, which has a real fire in one of the rooms, is owned by Dorothy Covacs, who, come September, will have been the Landlady for an amazing 21 years, so congratulations are in order.

Darts and dominoes are played regularly in this good community pub.

The pub is totally free of tie; regulars on the bar are Fullers London Pride and Timothy Taylor Landlord, usually joined by a changing ale from the local Beartown Brewery, plus a guest from somewhere else.

The presentation will be made on Saturday, 7th August at around 2pm, to tie in with the annual CAMRamble. Dorothy is opening the pub especially for us, so come along and celebrate, you will not be disappointed.

If you feel that you have got the energy to attempt the CAMRamble with us, then the number 99 Bakers Bus leaves from Biddulph Wharf Road at 25 minutes past the hour and will drop you off in Biddulph Moor 15 minutes later.
